Claims Adjustor- TMM, Inc.

Job Description: To investigate and adjudicate claims of loss or damage based upon all documentation presented according to Military Full Replacement Value Guidelines and diligently assess agent liability based on their compensation agreements with TMM. 

  • Bachelor degree preferred or a high school diploma with related claims experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment with difficult customers.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all parties involved.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Ability to learn all internal computer programs.
  • Willingness to take on additional projects, workload and maintain good synergy within the team environment.

The Pasha Group’s Shared Services Department located in Reno, Nevada is looking to hire an a Claims Supervisor to join our team. The Supervisor, Military and Government Claims Resolution is responsible for the direct supervision and functional support of staff responsible for household goods (HHG) and unaccompanied baggage (UB) claims support and resolution, and for the overall service performance outcomes generated by the Shared Service Center's Claims Resolution department functions.    

 Duties    and Responsibilities  

Coordinate   and monitor workflow to ensure loss and damage reports and claims are   registered, substantiated, reviewed, negotiated and processed accurately and   within required time frames.

Monitor,   audit, and validate claim documentation to ensure appropriate resolution and   loss mitigation steps are completed according to company policy, government   regulations, customer specifications, and service agreements.

Identify,   research, and resolve discrepancies with offers, payments, subrogation   invoices, and documentation.

Review   and process high risk, high value, or complex military and government claims.

Research   and resolve disputed claims.

Create   subrogation invoices and manage subrogation invoice collections process.

Partner   with SSC Management to provide claims analysis and documentation and to   ensure settlement and recovery actions are processed in accordance with   established claims processing guidelines.

Collaborate   with business partners on department initiatives, opportunities, and best   practices to ensure service level agreements (SLA) are maintained.

Train,   coach, and mentor staff.

Communicate   and implement proactive steps for process improvement to ensure key   performance indicators (KPIs) related to accuracy and timeliness are met.

Maintain   accurate, timely, and thorough records in systems and databases. Create,   maintain, and update periodic and ad hoc reports and performance measures.

Perform   daily, weekly, and monthly audits of documentation, records, and databases.

Update   schedules, logs and tasks daily.

Required    Education

Associate   degree in Business, Accounting, or related field or equivalent combination of   coursework and experience in directly-related field required.

 Preferred Licenses and    Certifications  

Certified   Claims Professional (CCP) designation or similar certification preferred.

Required    Work Experience

2+ years’   experience in a Claims Resolution position that includes responsibility for   processing and disposition of household goods military and government claims.

2+   years’ experience in a supervisory position

Job Overview:

The adjuster is responsible for the completion of work as assigned by regions, which includes the investigation and disposition of domestic claims for cargo and property damage, in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Reviewing of damages listed on shipment documentation to make a determination for exercising carrier’s right to inspection/assignment of repair firm. Tracing on missing items. Exercising carrier’s right to salvage on irreparable items. Offering written settlements to Legal/Transportation offices on military shipments. Offering written settlements directly to transferees on civilian (account & COD) shipments. Adjudicating liability to the responsible party (service representatives, and van operators). Responding to rebuttals of proposed settlements. Process set offs and request refunds from JAG offices.

Skills & Experience:

Must demonstrate ability to manage extensive volumes of work with solid decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to exercise initiative and sound independent judgment. Must have the ability to work in a stressful and fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism. PC skills required, specifically, email and Microsoft Office Word. One year of household goods claims experience preferred. High school education or equivalent required.
