General Information

LOCATION
We are excited to once again welcome you to this hidden gem in Fort Lauderdale called Lago Mar Beach Resort and Club.  It is a privately- owned facility that offers a beautiful get-a-way for our gathering.  Of course, we will offer our usual education and networking opportunities, but this property also allows you to a relaxing environment to hopefully rejuvenate from the daily work grind. Lago Mar comes with its spectacular 500-foot private beach and secluded location encompassing 10 acres in the exclusive Harbor Beach neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale airport is less than 5 miles from the hotel.  Taxi, Uber or Lyft are the quickest means of shuttle to the hotel.  The hotel does work with a private car service for transportation from the hotel back to the airport or for your convenience in getting around in the area.  There is no fee at the property for parking, either valet or self-parking.  

All events of the Convention will take place at the hotel property.  The reception on Saturday night and all food events during the event are included in your registration fee and noted on the schedule for clarification.There are some meals left on attendees that are not part of the event.

HIGHLIGHTS
Our goal continues with this event to provide educational opportunities to all our members, while still allowing sufficient time to network with all attendees. We will continue to identify first time attendees for the event and ensure they are properly welcomed, introduced and guided through the Convention process.  And as always, there will be plenty of time to ask questions throughout the event either in an open session or one-on-one to our Board or other members.

The CPPC is proud to offer the only claims accreditation course available to the moving and storage industry. On Thursday, September 21^st, the “QCA – Qualified Claims Analyst” course will be presented. This is an in-depth and expansive course content specific to Household Goods National Account (NAC)/COD Claims review and resolution or those wanting a refresher on “Claims 101”, the course will include a minimal touch specific for military claims, and best practices for daily claims processing. The course will be a full day of information, case studies, and material to keep for reference. At the end of the day, for those that pass a final examination of course material will receive their QCA accreditation and certificate of completion.

On Friday morning, September 22^nd, we are again offering our usual pre-event sessions of Miltiary Roundtable and Repair Only Session and a New Carrier/Agent/Insurance Only Session.  These sessions are pending confirmation of Military Brass Attendance and Interest from our attendees on the other two sessions. They can be whatever our attendess want them to be.  

If you are a first-time attendee, don’t miss the Newbies Meeting at 12:30 on Friday September 21^st.  This will allow you to meet the CPPC Board and be initially informed on the event, what to expect and how to get the most out of your time at the Convention. Our Convention will officially start at 1 PM on Friday with registration opening at 12 noon.  There is a Pre-Board meeting on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM that is open to all members.

REGISTRATION
Look for the official “Registration Form” in the back of the CPPC Claims Journal or on-line at the CPPC web site: www.claimsnet.org.  We offer a link on the website that will allow you save a fill-in form to send back in for registration.  An invoice will be returned to you for payment through our secure on-line payment portal.  Remember to register early, as we offer an early bird registration discount.  

Non-Registered Guests, who are not accompanying an attendee, can attend event food functions at a stand-alone fee per food event as shown on the registration form.

If you need sleeping accommodations for the event, it can be made directly with the hotel at 855-829-2923.  Their address is 1700 South Ocean Lane, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316.  Don’t forget to identify yourself as part of the CPPC 2023 Convention to obtain the special room rate of $195.00 for our special suites.   The cut-off for our room-block and this special rate is September 5, 2023.  Any reservations made after this date or once the block is filled, will be based on availability and at the hotel’s discretion on rate.  We have no control over this.  Any reservations under our block, by individuals not attending the convention, will be subject to standard hotel rates deemed appropriate by the hotel. 

ADVERTISING/SPONSORSHIPS
Advertising/Sponsorships help us to ensure the success of this event by allowing us to keep rates low, so more people can attend. With any level of Advertising/Sponsorship you can gain valuable exposure through your name being listed in the monthly CPPC Claims Journal and on the CPPC website, prior to the event.  We will offer ads in the official Convention Program in direct correlation to your Advertising level. Contributions of $50 - $250 are directly tied to designated levels, but any and all contributions will be appreciated and acknowledged.  Special Sponsorships are also available and limited to first-come status. Check the registration form and advertising materials for further details. Advertising for the event, even if not attending, is a great way to show support for the event and be recognized by other members. 

TRANSPORTATION
Again, the hotel is located just 5 miles from the Fort Lauderdale International airport.  Taxi, Uber or Lyft are the best options of transportation to the hotel.
